San Cristobal Cigars
San Cristobal cigars represent a cigar brand deeply
steeped in history. Ashton has reintroduced this brand into the market. San
Cristobal originated in Cuba in the 20th Century. Now back and
better than ever, San Cristobal is truly a remarkable cigar. Ashton
is a well known maker of some of the most premium cigars in the
world. Ashton cigars are made in the Fuente factory in the Dominican
Republic which is famous for its legendary cigars that it produces.
Held to the strictest standards, Ashton is worthy of the premium
label.
San Cristobal, by Ashton is made with the help of Jose “Pepin” Garcia,
who is well known for owning some of the best fermented Nicaraguan
tobacco in the world. Pepin is known for crafting rich, flavorful
cigars which are very complex. Pepin is a veteran of several Cuban
factories and is considered one of the best cigar rollers in the
world. He hand picks and trains all his employees who work in his
Nicaraguan and Miami factories.
San Cristobal is the first new brand since the debut of the highly
rated La Aroma de Cuba line in 2002. It is blended with all
Nicaraguan tobaccos and is strong and balanced with notes of cedar,
earth, and spice on the palate. It took two years for the San
Cristobal blend to come to fruition. Don Pepin worked hard to create
a luxurious cigar built for the achieved palate. Starting with the
black, fertile soils of Nicaragua, San Cristobal has a Nicaraguan
Corojo wrapper along with a rich mixture of Cuban-seed Nicaraguan
long-fillers. There are also hints of roasted nuts, coffee, and
complex notes of toasted wood throughout this cigar. The San
Cristobal is indeed a cigar for the sophisticated smoker and one
must take the time to savor this impressive cigar.
