Illusione Cigars was created by Dion Giolito with a very interesting concept. The concept is relative to Faith in God and our constant struggle between good and evil. Dion started his cigar career working at The Tinder Box part time and it quickly became a full time job. After 12 years working at Tinderbox, he decided to go on his own. Dion got a small business loan and opened a store on a shoestring budget. He soon decided to bring in a cigar from cigar maker Pete Johnson that he had bought from Tabacalera Tropical to liquidate and make some money on. When Dion's supplies dwindled he wanted to purchase more but the minimum purchase was 50 boxes and he was not willing to commit to that amount, so he decided to do it on his own. He made his own private label cigar and called it “88.” After about 6 months of positive comments Dion decided to meet with Pete and possibly convert it to a national brand. Pete introduced Dion to Paul Palmer while on a trip to Miami who was the creator of these great cigars.

While coming up with names for his cigars, Dion wanted to steer away from the normal cliches like “Robusto” and “Corona.” Since he had no time to play music anymore because of his newly found business obligations, Dion focused that energy on his new line of cigars: “Illusione.” Growing up in Nevada, he was always surrounded by numbers involved with gaming. He began to see numbers that would show up every time he played Keno, Craps, etc. Nevertheless, that stuck with Dion and became the ideas behind the names of his cigars.

Dion has 12 interesting sizes, all based on numbers that have specific meanings to him. The sizes consist of the “68” Bombone, “88” Robust, “F9” Finesse, “4/2g” Church, “888” Necessary and Sufficient, “M7” Magdala, “Cg:4” The White Horse, “2” And Crowned of Thorns, “1” The Dark Prince, “2/3” Tre in Uno, “MK” The Teaching Machine, and the “hl” The Holy Lance.
